THE SKYPULL TECHNOLOGY

01

DESIGN

The Skypull drone has a double wing design to maximize lift and minimize aspect ratio.  Additionally, each wing is made with a multi-element airfoil, similar to the wing of a commercial airplane during take-off that maximizes lift and minimizes drag for best flying efficiency.  The design implies increased strength, reduced weight and high resistance to fatigue. Hence, the Skypull drone represents a revolutionizing solution that optimizes flying efficiency and maximizes payload thanks to its original patented design: a “box wing” with multi-element airfoil.

02

CONTROL SYSTEM

A continuously updated "State of the Art" control technology grants intrinsic system safety and reliability of our unmanned aerial vehicle, with no need of land structures or complex operations for autonomous take-off and landing. Immediate and effective flight response ensures high reliability and safety levels, even in case of tether's break.

03

PERFORMANCES

In comparison to traditional wind turbines, due to the reduction of material and the increased capacity factor Skypull will be able to achieve a lower LCOE, that in certain locations will grant the system to be competitive with fossil fuel based energy generation technologies even in absence of public incentives.

Reduced materials and augmented energy production imply also the Skypull's energy return on investment (EROEI) - the parameter that represents the real advantage of an energy generation technology, indipendently by current market prices - being expected to be very high, comparable with the one's of oil in the 50's...

Materials required for the realization, O&M and decommissioning of the system under a LCA perspective

Net energy produced in a year

Levelized Cost of Energy: all inclusive cost per unit of energy produced by the system

SCALABILITY

Due to the intrinsic streght and lightness of the drone the Skypull technology ensures a scalability up to the MW generator class, with planned 17m wingspan drones.

Variable scalability of production of our drones, with structural composite parts that we will be able to produce in a continuous process, which allows for higher production capacity and lower cost than with traditional production processes

MANAGING THE TECHNOLOGY

IP PROTECTION
The Skypull intellectual property has been protected in 2015 by Granted Patent No. ITUD2015A000038, successively expanded to PCT/EP2016/000479 and extended to Europe, USA, China and India. The overall IP strategy is actively and continuously managed. A FTO assessment has also been realized.
BUSINESS MODEL

Skypull wants to position itself as a technology provider to energy utilities and plant developers. The target customers are incumbents that are already in the power generation business, hence benefitting from our product to further acquire market share (Wind), to enlarge their product offering in the wind energy sector (Renewables) or to enter the renewables sector with a disruptive technology (“Non-Renewables”) .
