Flight Control Engineer

Job description

You work efficiently in a team and support your colleagues. You are proactive and capable of taking ownership as well as with experience and willingness to help/mentor some of our younger engineers. You have good English writing skills in order to communicate with the team and to assist in the production of technical documentation. It would be highly beneficial if you are flexible and have the interest to work and add value/experience to several parts of our project.

 

Tasks:

As our new Flight Control engineer you will

  • Analyze, develop and optimize our control strategies of our patented box-wing VTOL drone.

  • Develop the trajectory in order to improve the efficiency of our drone.

  • Work on improving our simulation environment.

  • Deploy the developed code in our test fleet and participate in flight tests. (No piloting experience required).

 

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have

  • Great knowledge UAV flight control theory with industry experience, preferably with VTOL vehicles.

  • Good knowledge and experience of IMU, GNSS, and state estimators such as Kalman Filters.

  • Expertise in C++ with several years industry experience.

  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink.

  • Familiarity with git/version control.

  • Experience in communication protocols such as UAVCAN is a plus.

  • Experience with PX4 flight stack is a plus.

  • Ability to teamwork in a dynamic and challenging environment

  • Problem solving skills

  • Interpersonal and communication skills
